Screen Resoulution
________________
Observations
The typical 1080p computer screen is 1900 x 1200 pixels.
The typical 1080p computer screen has about 100 pixels per inch, or, 100 dots per inch (dpi)

The following are my guesstimations:
DVD resolution is 480p-640p
VHS resolution is 320p-480p
8k digital film is like IMAX

If a 1080p screen is 1900×1200 and has 100dpi then the screen would need to be at least 19×12
A 19×12 screen would need to be at least 22″ diagonal (using Pythagorus’ theorum)

Questions
How many dpi in the various film sizes?
Based on recent experience I would say 35mm film is close to BluRay, maybe around 2000 x 1200

Bandwidth
________________
Definitions
In this context I’m defining bandwidth as the screen resolution times the frame rate.

Observations
A T1 connection (1.54 MHz) is sufficient to watch streaming video at 720p.
BlueRay is about 1080p at 60-120Hz
